DESCRIPTION:Crosby Scholars encourages students to explore careers and learn about jobs available in the community.  Try-It Tuesday is our series of events held during the summer. \nOur Graphic Design/IT Careers session will be hosted by Mitchell Community College. Twenty students can participate. learning about jobs available here in Iredell County. \nGraphic Design concepts span careers in web development\, media\, digital communication and print communication.  Understanding how to get your message to a customer using more than just words. Technology\, the available tools and careers in this field will be discussed. Learn how to harness technology to succeed in business and beyond. \nThe second part of this session is learning about computers\, programming\, coding\, AI\, network architecture\, etc.  Learn what jobs and careers are available in the information technology field and how can you learn to obtain that dream job. \nAvailable to current (2025-2026) 9th – 12th graders. \nREGISTER IN CROSBY CONNECT! \n

Try-It Tuesday is our series of events held during the summer. \nOur Entrepreneurship Career Exploration will be hosted by the Small Business Center at Mitchell Community College. Thirty students can participate and they will learn the basics of starting a business. \nSee a Need. Fill a Need. Build Your Idea. \nWhat if your idea could solve a real problem—and maybe even become a business someday? \nJoin us for a hands-on\, high-energy entrepreneurship experience designed just for high school students. In this interactive session\, you’ll learn what entrepreneurship really is\, hear from a real local business owner\, and discover how simple ideas can turn into real solutions. \nYou’ll team up with other students to spot a problem in your school or community\, create a business idea to solve it\, and pitch your concept to real judges. No experience needed—just creativity\, curiosity\, and a willingness to try. \nAlong the way\, you’ll learn how entrepreneurs think\, how business ideas are planned (without boring paperwork)\, and how you can start building something—even as a teen.
