SUMMARY:MIDDLE SCHOOL CAREER TREK: Careers In Art
DESCRIPTION:Save the date for our Arts Career Trek July 13th (time TBD) to explore careers in the arts! This event will be held in collaboration with Mooresville Arts and two local art galleries in downtown Mooresville. \nIs it possible to have a reliable and stable career as an artist in Iredell County? The answer might surprise you! Come find out about local organizations and artists that are doing just that. This event will be upbeat\, interactive\, and a whole lot of fun! Scholars will also complete a small art project during this event. Open to rising 7th\, 8th\, and 9th graders. Transportation will be provided from a central location in Statesville\, or students can be dropped off directly to the Arts Depot in downtown Mooresville. All students will receive lunch during the event. Put the date on your calendar now\, and look out for an email with the sign-up link within the next few weeks when start and end times are confirmed! \nOur thanks to Foundation for the Carolinas for supporting this program!

DESCRIPTION:Crosby Scholars encourages students to explore careers and learn about jobs available in the community. Try-It Tuesday is our series of events held during the summer. This session will be hosted by Detroit Speed & Engineering. 20 students can participate and they will learn about jobs available right here in Iredell County. \nDetroit Speed & Engineering (DSE) is a nationally known automotive engineering and manufacturing company based in Mooresville\, North Carolina. They specialize in designing and building high-performance suspension systems\, chassis components\, and complete custom vehicles for classic and modern muscle cars. Their Mooresville facility functions as a design center\, manufacturing shop\, and custom build operation. \nCareer paths: engineering\, sales and marketing\, manufacturing\, welding\, and fabrication.
