OVERVIEW

Our vision is to ensure that every public school student in Iredell County has the opportunity to experience the life-transforming possibilities of higher education.

The Crosby Scholars Program is a unique college access program for students enrolled in middle school through grade 11 in Iredell-Statesville Schools, the Mooresville Graded School District, and the public charter schools (American Renaissance School, Langtree Charter Academy, Pine Lake Preparatory School, and The Success Institute).

The program prepares students academically, financially, and personally for successful college enrollment.

Students participate annually in at least one Crosby Scholars Academy - a series of academic and personal enrichment workshops that may include test taking and study skills, time management, conflict resolution and a host of other courses to help scholars be better students and to prepare for college admission.

Students perform at least 2 hours of community service, and agree to remain drug free and to obey all school rules and regulations.

Depending on grade level, Crosby Scholars receive advisory services, take part in career and college exploration activities, and participate in college admission and financial aid workshops.

Program applications are available each year to students in middle school through grade 10.  All students who apply are automatically accepted.  Students are automatically re-enrolled for upcoming years as long as they completed all of the program requirements during their previous year of enrollment.
